Mike Simmers
VP of Operations

Mike is an engineer with over 20 years of technical expertise in developing novel tools, devices, and in vitro organ systems for a therapeutics company. Prior to joining Luminoah, he played a significant role at HemoShear Therapeutics, developing platform technology interrogating the human vasculature, liver, and tumor microenvironment. Mike held various key roles leading operations, advancing technological innovation, and managing the company’s intellectual property portfolio. He has authored numerous scientific publications and holds multiple patents related to in vitro human organ systems. Outside of work, Mike enjoys coaching his children in sports and supporting UVA athletics alongside his family and friends.
